Dear Parents and 2nd Graders:

I am so excited about the new 2008 – 2009 school year at Pleasantville!  We are going to combine learning and fun to have a fantastic year.  Our back-to-school theme is “The Recipe for a Great Year”.

In Math, we will be studying addition, subtraction, word problems, telling time, and money.  We have a new reading series from Harcourt Brace to explore together while continuing to utilize Centers for individualized instruction.  Insects, Balance and Motion, Soil, and Nutrition are the areas of study in Science.  Those are just a sampling of the 2nd Grade curriculum.  I haven’t even told you about the field trips…Why you will just have to wait and see – only 4 more days left- enjoy!
